Inscription. Built by Bill and Pleas Wright in 1919-20 as the Wright Brothers' Barn, with an office and stables for feeding and sale of 300 of the famous Missouri Mules. In 1930, W.E. Rader and Thomas Dudley Diggs started the Rader Packing Company in the southeast corner of the Wright building. Thomas D. and Minnie Rader Diggs bought the building in 1937, then occupied and remodeled the entire building for their meatpacking operations in 1953. In 1973 the company became the Diggs Packing Company, which ceased operations here in 2005. The Diggs Building was named a Columbia Historic Property in June 2006.
