More about this marker. This marker was originally erected in 1934 at the Alpha Portland Cement Company's Jamesville NY plant. In the effort to save it for future generations, it was relocated here in 2018 as a Boy Scout Eagle Project.
 
Regarding Safety Follows Wisdom. Near identical markers, also erected starting in the mid-1920s, still stand in many small cement communities around America. The practice of awarding these monuments was abandoned during the 1980s, when costs became prohibitive.
