The Cougar, was the Navy's first swept-wing fighter. It entered the fleet in 1954 in configurations as a fighter, attack and photographic reconnaissance aircraft. It was flown by the world famous Blue Angels from 1955 to 1957, and later served as an advanced jet trainer for the Navy, until retiring from service in 1969. The F-9, with more than 100 other aircraft spanning the history of Naval Aviation, is on display at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Naval Air Station Pensacola.
