A cet endroit s'élevait la première porte St-Honore, percée dans l'enceinte de Philippe Auguste. Le 27 décembre 1594, Jean Châtel tenta de tuer Henri IV, qui habitait avec Gabrielle d'Estrées Phôtel du Bouchage construit à l'emplacement de cette porte; il ne réussit qu'à lui fendre la levre supérieure et lui casser une dent. Cet hôtel fut vendu en 1616 à la congregation des Pères de l'Oratoire nouvellement fondée par Pierre de Bérulle. Métezeau commença en 1621 la construction de leur église, achevée en 1630 par Le Mercjer. La façade actuelle fut terminée par Caqué vers 1750.

Détruits lors du percement de la rue de Rivoli, en 1854, les bâtiments conventuels occupaient le quadrilatère formé par les rues de l'Oratoire, Saint-Honoré, de Marengo et le Louvre.

splitting his upper lip and breaking a tooth. This hotel was sold in 1616 to the congregation of the Fathers of the newly founded Oratory by Pierre de Bérulle. Métezeau in 1621 began the construction of their church, completed in 1630 by Le Mercjer. The façade was completed by Caqué around 1750.

Destroyed during the construction of the rue de Rivoli, in 1854, the convent buildings occupied the quadrilateral formed by the streets of the Oratory, Saint-Honoré, Marengo and the Louvre.
