Excerpt: On 21st November 2022, Ambassador Peter Reuss, Permanent delegate of Germany to UNESCO, and the French UNESCO Ambassador, Veronique Roger-Lacan, unveiled a commemorative plaque for the French-German author Annette Kolb (1870-1967) in Paris.

The life and works of Annette Kolb (1870-1967) were strongly influenced by her French-German origin and identity. After her books had been publicly burned by the national-socialist party in Munich, she was forced to leave her home and found exile in Paris for numerous decades. From 1944 to 1961 she lived in a hotel situated in Boulevard Raspail, which is still being used as a hotel today. The French and German UNESCO delegations are proud to have initiated and unveiled a plaque in memory of Annette Kolb on the facade of the hotel. Ambassador Peter Reuss, honoured the author for her lifelong contribution
